I would be considered the griefer in this situation, I don’t know what compelled me to do it.
This was in beta, actually the weekend before the big update was released. I got killed in Blackwater by this rooftop cool kid. So I respawned and pulled out my rolling rock, waited for the perfect shot to kill him and his buddy.
I run off after and hide in some bushes near by, waiting for the inevitable. While waiting in my poor mans’s slippery bastard bush, I noticed this high ranking red blip player using eagle eye. I guess this is where griefer madness overcame any sort of normal thought process.
Surprisingly I was able to get a clean headshot of him, and took of running like a bat out of hell towards the river. I was hiding just below the cliff using a tree for protection as it rain dynamite and bullets. Somehow I managed to kill him again.
So I took off running and in the process I get gunned down. Fair enough, I definitely deserved it.
I respawned right by a inactive gang hideout. My plan was to use the tower to get a headshot, and run some more. I am hella clumsy and as he approached, I accidentally fell off while trying to avoid his bullets.
Since we all have infinite lives, I run like the gingerbread man towards a house I was hoping to get in. No luck, and he was coming fast. At this point the only option was to hide behind the house. We played a deadly game of ring around the rosies and somehow I won with a blast from my trusty shotty.
I checked the map quickly and discovered I was close to Strawberry!?!? As I made my way there the feud icon popped- of course I ignored it! Just as I entered the stable the player rode past. I have never seen them again.
Shoutout to the player who I griefed, I sincerely appreciate playing with you. It was exhilarating to be chased down on foot by one of the best horses in game and much higher ranked player. If I could I’d buy you a beer, and big fish for your troubles that day.
This was my last beta shoot anyone and anything. I guess I look back on it with rose colored glasses.
