It was three days after his birthday, three days before my graduation party. Totally out of the blue after I’d just spent a ton of money on gifts and spent several days with his family, throwing a party with his mom. The worst part was that everyone at my grad party knew what was going on because he’d been at every event for a while. My parents had to call my relatives in advance and ask them not to bring it up but it was still the main topic of conversation because I was so visibly heartbroken and everyone thought the timing was so cruel. Life goes on and I’ve had other break ups since then but I don’t think I’ll ever forget that one
