What’s your experience like when you go get your hair cut?

I basically hate it. I have pretty curly hair and I’ve had a lifetime of bad haircuts. I ask for one thing and some person who swears up and down they know how to cut curly hair completely ruins my hair.

It usually is cut wayyyyy too short and it takes years to grow back or leave blonde in too long for my hair and give me a chemical haircut. Once I asked for light brown and I got black. I’ve had shoulders cut into my haircut. I’ve had someone chemically relax my hair without asking me first.

Now when I need to get my hair done I basically get micro-cuts and like 6 highlights at a time because I’m terrified that if I give a hairdresser any idea at all that they can make a significant change they will go way too far and take way too much off.

I think often hairdressers treat curly hair as a challenge for themselves or a way to show off and prove themselves and it kinda sucks to be on the other side of that.

They also can’t style it so then when I’m done I just put it up in a big wet ponytail and go home and have to restyle it.

It honestly sucks because I would love to go a bit more blonde or actually get my hair styled but I’m pretty scared to do it. I also will get such small changes and pay 200 bucks for it.

I now mostly just cut my hair with my own scissors and it’s free.
