What’s your guys opinion on this

Ok so

Also, side effects such as inferitlity and sexual incompetence are issues only if the subject turns out not to be transgender, which is extremely rare for people who experience gender dysphoria

I wasn't specifically talking to you when saying not to believe in people like Walsh, this subreddit is r/Teenagers, and it is therefore full of really young people, who tend to buy into anything said by a random guy who sounds confident and uses complicated words. In a 2015 survey of nearly 28,000 people conducted by the U.S.-based National Center for Transgender Equality, only 8 percent of respondents reported detransitioning, and 62 percent of those people said they only detransitioned temporarily. The most common reason for detransitioning, according to the survey, was pressure from a parent, while only 0.4 percent of respondents said they detransitioned after realizing transitioning wasn’t right for them.

I'm not american, so I don't know how living as a transgender person is there, but I think the support
