What is the scariest film that doesn't resort to cheap jump scares?

>!In the beginning of the movie the girl is possessed by the demon because the mother was estranged from the grandmother at the time of the boys birth and so the ritual couldn't be performed on the son, when the daughter is born they're in contact again and the grandmother "takes care" of the child.

The demon is said to prefer to be housed inside a male host so the ritual is performed again after the grandmother dies in order to complete the transfer from the daughter to the son.

In order to complete this ritual the mother is tricked into performing the ritual that summons the demon and sacrifices are performed.

When the son falls out of the window at the end the light that flickers over him signifies that the demon has taken possession and he immediately makes the clicking noise with his tongue that his sister made!<

I personally enjoyed the movie a great deal, it's very reminiscent of Rosemary's Baby but I found the payoff at the end to be more satisfying tbh.

I went into the movie with absolutely no knowledge of what the storyline was going to be and found it to be an instant classic for me, a lot of that comes from the lead in where I expected the movie to go in a Babadook direction and was pleased when it didn't (even though Babadook is also a good movie).
