Writing this after studying for 6 hours. I’m sorry if this is badly written.

When I was 10 my parents got divorced and my father bought a house in town. It was 4 stories including the basement and the attic. The house was very old and made a lot of sounds at night. It never bothered me and I preferred to live in town (we lived in the country when the family was still together) I was 15 so I chose to live with my dad and my sister, 13, went with my mother.

Anyhow, he was and is a doctor. He constantly had to leave the house in the middle of the night for emergencies, leaving me home alone. Again, I never minded. This was very standard. The only difference was me being alone rather than with my mother and sister.

One night he came into my room and told me that he had to go into the hospital because a girl had gotten into an auto accident on a road well-known for causing accidents. I remember mumbling, "Ok, dad" and going back to sleep.

I woke up again sometime afterwards to a completely darkened room. I wasn't sure how much time had passed...I didn't have any LED clocks in my room. I remember glancing around but it was extremely dark-I could only see outlines of my desk, computer, posters...then I noticed something amiss.

There was an outline that I could not associate with any object in my room. It was at the foot of my bed about 3 feet higher than the bedpost. I wasn't afraid at this point. I just kept looking at the silhouette. After a good 10 seconds of staring, I realized it was in the shape of a girl wearing a backpack.

Still I wasn't afraid. I thought it might have been the daughter of one of my father's nurses (when they rode to his office in another town on Thurs, he would carpool with a nurse in the early AM and her daughter would catch the bus with me). But the more I stared at this girl, the more confused I became. I could see her backpack, her hair, her clothes and demeanor perfectly. She was just standing at the foot of my bed facing me. I started to feel uneasy, but still not completely afraid. But this changed when I realized than when I looked at her face I could see nothing. It wasn’t like it wasn’t there…it was like I was looking at something my mind could not comprehend. Like a sentence written in Japanese to an English speaker. Fear was starting to grip me. I croaked, “Felicia? (name of nurse’s daughter). Nothing. She just continued to stand there. Adrenaline was now starting to surge through my veins but I couldn’t move. I didn’t know who or what this was. I was about to say something again, I can’t remember what, when the figure shifted its stance. This scared the absolute HELL out of me. I screamed. I don’t mean yelled, I mean, I screamed. While I was screaming (probably in a window of about 3 seconds) the figure raised its arm, pointed at me and suddenly vanished. I freaked. I ran from my house to my neighbors, banged on the door and they let me in (small town, people know each other) till my dad got home. My dad was insanely pissed off at me when he got back. I guess I embarrassed him with the neighbor ordeal and again when I asked if we could sleep in a hotel that night. We went back home and he went back to bed telling me to do the same. I managed to convince him to let me sleep in his room that night. Fast forward 10 years later (this is where you’ll probably get skeptical, but I this is 100% true) I was with some friends in my 4-Runner on the same road that girl had wrecked on. The road is 1 lane with many turns. We came around one twist and a drunk driver was flying around it recklessly. I cut the wheel, barely missing him, and the 4-Runner flipped. Three times. I flew out of the sunroof and landed in a ditch. The 4-Runner somehow bounced off a tree, spun back and landed on top of me but didn’t kill me because I was in the ditch (think a tree falling on a concave). None of my friends were hurt. My friend Damon was hanging upside down in the back because of his seatbelt. I remember him looking at me through the sunroof with huge eyes. When we got out we were all in shock. Damon looked at me and said, “there was a girl next to you.” “Where?” “Next to you in the ditch.” “What did she look like?” “I couldn’t see her face, just her hair, shirt and backpack.”
