Happy ending, but it was pretty scary to go through.

This was back in college for me. The semester had recently started, and I was in an apartment with new roommates that I had not known previously. It was a weekend morning and I was getting ready for work in the common area of the apartment. One of my roommates came out to get breakfast and I started to make some small talk. He didn’t really respond to me, so I figured he wasn’t a morning person.

The next thing I know, there’s a crash in the kitchen area and I don’t see him anymore. I got off the couch and go around the counter to see him seizing on the floor. I had no clue what was going on or what to do. I hurried and called 911 and the paramedics were sent out. They stabilized him and took him to the hospital.

Not knowing what else to do, I headed off to work. After a while his mom comes to my work and finds me (she lived a couple of towns over from where the university was). She told me that I had saved her son’s life and explained that he was diabetic and that his blood sugar level had been really low and caused his seizure.

It was as I said, pretty scary to see someone go through that.
