When I was 11 or 12, I was walking home alone from town when I passed a bus that had been set on fire. I was (and still am) absolutely terrified of fire, so I started running to get away from it and also get home faster. The bus was only about 5 minutes from my house and I got to a point where I could see my house when a car with 4 adults in it pulled up next to me and they started demanding I get in the car so they could drive me home. I kept refusing because you’re never supposed to get in cars with strangers and also I can see my house, which I tell them. 2 of them get out of the car and pretty much force me into it and they drive me home and then take off. I am obviously freaking out at this point because I was a kid who was terrified of everything so it’s been pretty traumatising, and while I am freaking out at home and being comforter by my parents, the cops show up at my house and ask to speak with me. Apparently, the people who had decided to force me into their car thought that this tiny girl was an arsonist because I was running from a flaming bus.

TLDR: got forced into a stranger’s car, got accused of arson and had the cops called on me.
