What secret are you hiding from your family?

No, slowly. It happens slowly and every day is harder than the last and some people don't know how to ask for help because so much is expected of them that even asking for help is a failure so they stay quiet and afraid and feel like enormous failures for things that are out of their control and maybe a few classmates or professors are way less than kind over serious emergencies or silent pleas and their failure is just reiterated to them all around everyone they meet knows and laughs or doesn't but expects something so when you're that big of a fuck up that everyone who at least thought you had potential will now see you like everyone who thinks you're a failure sees you, there just isn't much point because this tiny thing is too big.

But people that are too afraid to ask for help should always know that many people, strangers and loved ones, will understand and say it's okay and actually help immediately. Some people might be awful and scream at them or call them names, but not everyone. And no matter how bad things may seem, people who love them will understand.

First, talk with a private psychologist or school psychologist. Then talk with academic advisors about where to go and how to succeed. Then let whoever cares know about the struggle. It'll all get much better and in a few years the memory will be dim. Life goes on.
