What should be illegal?

If I'm donating food to the hungry I'm not buying doughnuts. They are a very bad choice, they have no nutritional value, are a negitive impact on health, generally not filling and are easily perishable. There are much better options.

Seeing good or edible food trashed is painful for me, so I acknowledge I have strong feelings about this. I ended up writing a bit too much earlier but didn't want to delete it:

It's extremely sad to know that some of the companies view the discarded doughnuts being taken as lost revenue. Sure you might get some dick taking free discarded doughnuts, but those dicks shouldn't ruin it for everyone. No one I've encountered taking doughnuts out of the trash was taking them because they were those free doughnut dicks. They were taking them for the same reason I did. A long time ago, that I hope never happens again I couldn't afford food of any sort. It just so happens that discarded doughnuts are somewhat easy to obtain.

They are not a good food if you are starving. The sugar content, lack of any nutrients, along with being unfulfilling make them a bad option to survive on.

The in area I was in the doughnuts are made differently and are cake-like with dairy somehow. If you are lactose intolerant or have an allergy like me it quickly becomes a regrettable source of food. The lack of nutrients is a bigger issue when it effectively has a negative net nutritional value to you

Fortunately for my family's pre disposition for diabetes and my general health I had a source of water at the time to somewhat hold back hunger pains and stretch how long it took between eating them. Unfortunately if you only eat a doughnut or 3 for a week your digestion and poop experience isn't going to be fun with a lactose issue. Luckily my water source also had 24/7 access to a rest room I could use
