What should I major in?

The 70 hrs/week can happen in any field, not just accounting.

Your career path can be fluid and almost all of my friends who started as engineering majors are doing something else. A few are COOs, VPs of marketing, and one is in technical sales. One became a doctor and one become a patent lawyer. Another has his own company running global imports. Some have gone into wealth management/CFAs where they either manage other people's money or are the head of mutual funds. Only 2 friends are doing what they majored in.

What all these people had in common was that most had internships and went on to get their masters from top grad schools in their field. The lawyer went to an ok law school but is still doing well financially.
