what show is overrated but is treated like a masterpiece?

I know others already said "that's the whole point" but it's deeper than that. Yeah Tony is a piece of shit but the real genius of the show, I think, is that at points you almost view them as family. Tony and the gang are actually really funny(it surprised me how funny the show was when I watched it first) and they experience so much human shit that we can all relate to. The show does a good job lulling you into feeling some sense of sympathy for them before very dramatically reminding you just how evil these people are.

Which I think is great because one of the underlying themes of the show is the banality of evil. Tony is fully responsible for his actions but, once you get backstory, it's totally understandable how he ended up the way he did. He wasn't born evil, he's just a normal guy who does evil things because that's his lot in life.
