What has simultaneously gotten worse and more expensive?

The biggest issue with fridges is that no one buys the simple ones anymore. People want a giant ass french door fridge with an ice maker, water dispenser, fancy ass window computer thingers, and LED lights at every shelf. 90% of the time, people run into one of two problems:

  1. They buy a cheap ass inverter refrigerator and the inverter dies. It costs more to replace it or you can't get a replacement inverter for it, so they end up buying a new one. Cycle repeats.
  2. One of those features dies or the cheap plastic molding starts breaking down and need a new one. So they buy a new one with the same features. Cycle repeats.

Basically, anything other than a basic refrigerator and freezer is going to shit out. Pay more for better shelves, make sure the door isn't held on with molded plastic, and avoid Samsung like the plague.
