What has simultaneously gotten worse and more expensive?

This is valid. So many people so mad about it. It is extremely true that an ingredients list will, to some, hint towards the taste of the product. There is an extremely large difference between real vanilla and fake vanilla and that is why vanilla beans are so absurdly expensive. It's so sad to see so many people gang up on you because you made a valid point which makes them upset because they would be unable to do this. Just as many would not know there is a substantial difference in flavor between ice cream in which the first ingredient is cream instead of whole milk or eggs, etc.

People on the internet are so sad sometimes. SO many defenses against a point which is just obvious and a given to those who are familiar with the role of ingredients and method of preparation in food. This point would not be argued for even a second amongst anybody with actual culinary knowledge- "You can't handle the truth". And before some snarky redditor who cannot sleep at night unless they've made themselves appear an expert in anything their eyes fall upon, yes I am aware of r/gatekeeping and r/IamVeryCulinary .
