While I can't argue, I can apologize for my limited view on things.

I joined the Army in 2004 and left a small, white town in central Illinois. I'd only ever seen people drinking, and a few smoking weed and sniffing a little coke here and there. Ten years go by, and I'm almost out of the Army. My wife and I decided, after MUCH deliberation, to move to her hometown here in Florida. Now, I don't know how much the outside world knows of Citrus county, aka Shitrus or Circus, but this place is a serious shitshow. Not just here, of course, but the whole area is fucked. I once went to a medical marijuana dispensary in Orlando, and saw what I presumed to be a hooker, smoking something out of a glass bubble right on the sidewalk in broad daylight like it was normal (gotta love OBT on a Friday afternoon). I lived in Hawaii for half of my Army career (minus 2 years over seas, plus time away in training) and meth was bad there, but GOD DAMN, I didn't expect it to be even worse here, and now heroin is spreading its vicious claws, too. I know people who, and I quote, "...use H every once in a while...", like it's perfectly acceptable to put that info out there.

Yeah, FL is fucked up, but I guess I'm only looking at it through local eyes. All I can say, at the end of the day and when everyone is dead from ODing...I'm not FROM here and neither are any of my real friends. Most everybody I hang with is from somewhere up north, so we have that in common. I can't be around fuckin junkies and fiends, I need a new place to move to. A high percentage of the population of IL has left in the last few years, maybe it's time to start a mass exodus out of Floriduh as well.
