There are consumer market tools targeted especially at this type of thing, which cost way less than $200 and will get it done in, literally, minutes.

... Why would you tell him to waste $200 having someone else do it, when he can click 5-10x and just have the entire video generated for him by a cheap software tool (i.e. Corel FastFlick).

I think this subreddit needs a more thorough list of NLEs, given the intended audience, and should stop limiting recommendations to "Free" stuff. Sometimes, the paid stuff is more appropriate, and there is more than enough low-cost paid options on the market that anyone wanting to edit video should not have a problem finding what they need and/or is more appropriate for them (Free or Paid).

Not doing so is a disservice, IMO. The list in this thread's OP is beyond anemic.
