What is something you did as a child that you were supposed to grow out of but still do now?

I do this all the time; I feel it helps me work through problems. Except it has created a few awkward instances throughout my life.

Most recently during a multiple choice exam, where we were expected to type comments for each question. These comments allowed for us to explain how we saw the problem and potentially offer partial credit if we got the wrong answer but provided a reasonable explanation or allow us to communicate confusing question to the professor to improve the exam.

It was a timed exam and there were a lot of questions, so I had to work through it quickly and just wrote down the comments at the speed of thought.

This was one of my comments:

GTOs are force sensors, so given force you can find torque. C transforms to torque, so it'd have to be after that… or perhaps before since spikes per second times g would effectively give me a force I want… I think. I am torn. Hmm. How are A and B even different? GTO info is separate inserted data, I'm not sure where to stick it. Well where would I want it. Probably in the torque calculations. I guess I just see it as an input, not really a feedback from existing data. Well if your theta actual is significantly lower than your desired, you need more torque. Yes, but that relation is based on the difference between the theta actual and desired, not how much force we are seeing. Let's go with E. Running out of time. Need to run matlab code.

Arrived at this answer through process of elimination. Book says the current theory is that the BG, prevents undesired movements and regulates the magnitude of motor commands and to direct motor learning. Was inclined to put B for both 10 and 11, despite them being very different. I just cant find significant justification to put E for the BG.

My professor asked if I was working with someone else on the exam. Nope; just me, and me, and me.

The other time was a while ago, back in HS, during an AP stats exam. I was getting very animated thinking through a problem, discussing the assumptions with myself. The proctor eventually stood behind me and held his ear close to ensure I wasn't quietly whispering answers to anyone.
