What is something that you did (or went to go see) in Japan that looking back, you wished you skipped?

Harajuku. Absolutely no reason to go there. Just go to the mall where ever you live. Basically the same thing except you can actually walk around.

Frankly, have spent only about two weeks in Tokyo and really have no desire to go back. I realize I am in the minority.

Prefer Kyoto although you can go in late-March and run into relatively few tourists, but go in the first two weeks of April and holy fuck... better just getting a central hotel by Nijo-jo and just walking to Arashiyama or Gion. Came across some of thr coolest and most beautiful scenes on the way. Would spend more time in the countryside and mountains if my Japanese was better.

Looking forward to spending time north of Tokyo on the way to Hokkaido next year.
