What is something you expect (or would want to see) in a "Streaming Service Tycoon"?

Robust advertisment system tied to hypetrain

If you produce series it's probably make sense to produce them in seasons, we've seen how show can fall in grace quickly - GoT

The way I handle series is something I keep working on. Very important that it feels right and expansive. This goes for movie franchises too. Contracts that expire, demands from actors, writers and directors etc. And as of right now, you shouldn't be able to be swimming in billions and thus difficult decisions have to be made. Losing an actor or the writers can be deadly, but not always; with the right approach you might be able to keep it profitable - or become even bigger.

Can't go on /r/Netflix without people being mad about cancellations either. I want the player to have to make these kinds of decisions, and for them to have an impact.

For me personally the fun of a tycoon game stops when all you need is 1 big smash hit and be set forever. However, to keep the struggling part interesting there needs to be a lot of content. I don't want it to feel like all you do is pick a theme and some actors over and over.

Opponents! You library better have some adversity, or at least some mechanic that forces you to improve your content or go bust

AI is the hardest part. Balancing will become a big focus (eventually). Getting this right is very important and obviously goes hand in hand with the difficulty mentioned above.

Servers and hardware+ software as coverage of your app for different tech(mobile phones/ tablets/ PC/ smart TV/ car builtin pc etc.)

Something common in this genre is new things unlocking as the years pass. This will be the case here too. But with different platforms come more costs, more employees to deal with the backend, frontend, bugs and servers. No hardware related things though, but could be something to think about. Deals with other companies (your service for "free" when you buy the latest [brand] phone/etc) could be a fun thing to introduce, or did you perhaps mean something else?
