i was dumb and 18 and brought a bit of THC edibles and concentrates on an international flight to taiwan

i just put it in my checked bag and was good from USA-taiwan. i made it through taiwan-USA with a little bit left, but after i got back through US customs and was getting my checked bag from the carousel they randomly selected me to hand check my bag.

TSA dude checked it pretty thoroughly and i didn’t stash stuff too creatively so after looking through everything he ended up finding it.

from the start in my head i was assuming he was going to find it so i made conversation with him as he went through my bag and talked about my trip and how i’ve been learning chinese for a long time etc. etc. and we had a pretty chill vibe going on and we were chatting comfortably

so yeah he finds it and I explain what I use it for and I also have my medical recommendation on me and everything, plus I’m in california. he lets me off with a warning even though the TSA is a federal agency and he knows i just basically smuggled controlled substances internationally. i also sold a little bit of what i brought to my close friend because THC is really expensive in taiwan.

i got pretty lucky
