What is something that as a woman, terrifies or scares you?

My responses to these reasons are usually the same: 1 - I can understand that it won't always have a 100% success rate but if the person is actively attempting to harm then you need to take measures to prevent that harm from occurring. It's sad that just submitting is seen as a viable alternative to fighting back. 2 - It isn't easy for someone to grab it. The thing can spray almost 5-7 feet away and will strap around your hand/wrist. You could also just empty the whole thing on the attacker then they don't have any to use (each canister only has a few "shots"). AND they are attacking you, if they take it they are going to do you harm but that's what they were going to do before. Pepper spray (consumer-level stuff) is non-lethal it's going to hurt like hell but it can get you out of a pinch. 3 - The safety switch is something you need to practice with. Just like any other form of defense/weapon you must practice with it. You could buy an empty canister to practice with or practice with a full one with safety glasses on. (Not implying you should spray it just practice drawing it and thumbing the safety off) Or you might think the safety is off when showing someone how it works, and now you've sprayed a friend or yourself. You don't take it out of your bag or show anyone unless it's a dire situation. Think about it like taking a gun out of your bag in public. You don't show off weapons. If you're inside, the entire room will need to evacuate. People in nearby rooms may even be coughing. This is not true for standard pepper spray that comes out in a stream. This is true for police-grade pepper spray that comes out in a mist. The police-grade stuff is more powerful and gets everywhere, which is why it's suggested you only use that for home defense against multiple attackers (because you know your way around your home and they don't). I couldn't find any good slow motion videos but this one shows you how pepper spray (standard) behaves. (you can watch the whole video if you like but I just added it to show how pepper spray works) After 15 minutes he's no longer that incapacitated but you need a whole lot less than that to get away. I'm always nervous whenever my little sister goes out alone (even though she's ~5'8 110 lbs of angry teenage angst) for runs in the early morning and have hoped that her carrying pepper spray would allow her to get away from any potential attackers. Hell, I carry pepper spray myself when I go out to bars and know I'll be coming back at very odd hours in the morning. (12 am - 4 am) Sorry for rambling. I don't know if this will help anyone or if I just sound like a redneck jackass trying to prove a point but I hope it helps in some way.

EDIT: was removed because I'm an idiot.
