Had to go to the hospital for a small procedure but it would require a day of aftercare at home. Best friend offered to take me and we had recently discovered mutual feelings. It was a lumbar puncture, they gave me some valium to help me relax/stay still- but the doctor cancelled the test after looking at some imaging. The test was supposed to use a needle guided into the right place by x-ray so I had to give up any jewelry.

I dont remember doing it but apparently I gave my best friend the necklace I was wearing, which I had been given shortly after he passed away. I had promised to take her out for food as a thank you for taking me to the hospital and taking care of me. At breakfast she says something like "Oh I almost forgot, reaches under her hair, and pulls out my necklace. She said I gave it to her for safe keeping, and after considering her pocket and her purse she figured wearing it was he safest place it could be.

Two years later I dont think anything will make that moment leave my brain. I can't wait to make her my wife.
