What is something that you would like to see taught in schools?

At some point, it would obviously boil down to the parents of a given child being able to determine if their kid is emotionally mature and responsible enough to be enrolled in the class, which, yes, may or may not be a total disaster in some cases because a lot of parents themselves really lack good enough judgement to make that call. I mean, come on, nowadays you can't even show a movie with any type of weapon in it in schools without sending students home with permission slips a week in advance, it seems. But really, this is all about hypotheticals, and there's just no way that the idea of this would fly in elementary schools or even middle schools anyway, and that's fine. I understand that very real concern. But still, I think this would be a great optional class for students of high school age and older. A sort of admission criteria could perhaps be to pass a periodic grade and work ethic check from all of ones teachers, and their parents, just like any ordinary high school athletic or otherwise advanced activities? (And if we doubt an educator's ability to pass that kind of judgement responsibly, then perhaps he/she is not fit to be educating) Yes, something like this would be overwhelmingly red-tape-y in most cases, but I still think it would be a worthwhile consideration for any variety filled class lineup. I would have loved to have taken a class like that because my family never had any firearms growing up, and I always wanted to learn, which is why I listed it in my reply to the thread. Now, had you said that you actually have firsthand experience working with children in your first reply, I would have felt more inclined to hear you out, and I do apologize.

BTW: if these replies seem oddly out of sequence, it may be because I'm redditing on my phone, and I'm not good with touch screen keyboards, so I have been typing relatively slow to reply/edit.
