WHAT SONG GOT YOU INTO RADIOHEAD?

had heard creep, bought the bends b/c I enjoyed several songs. didn't think much about it...

in 96-97 I went to school to study music and subsequently missed much of the ok computer hype. I also decided to listen to only non singing music, just a full jazz immersion thing. Miles was my go to b/c of wayne shorter's compositions and the legendary tony williams/herbie hancock/ron carter rhythm section

sometime late in 97 I saw an article (not sure where) but Thom was speaking of how he wanted a line in Subterranean Homesick Alien to sound like Miles Davis' horn. I bought ok computer based on that article. It sounds like Thom is emulating Miles' phrasing during that whole tune....started learning guitar chords/sing to exit music. ok computer is the soundtrack to late 97-98.

There is something about growing up with a favorite band that keeps growing in every musical way possible. I think about that a lot, being a huge Miles fan and having once naively believed the 'born in the wrong gen...' tripe
