Corny af, but Thinking Out Loud by Ed Sheeran. My (then) friend took me to his prom and it was one of the first songs we slow danced to. But the DJ said at the “we found love right where we are” part, to sing along if we loved the person we were dancing with. After being his friend for years and having hung out pretty regularly for a while, I could say that I didn’t just like him, I loved him, so I sang along but too quietly for him to hear.

We started dating a couple weeks later after he confessed how he felt about me. Apparently, he’d sung along too, but too quietly for me to hear. :)

We’ve been together almost a year and although that doesn’t seem like a lot of time, we’ve been friends for so long and our relationship has grown very strong. I smile (or cry) every time I hear that song.
