What sparked you to hit the gym?

I started going to the gym about 3 weeks ago.

I have bad depression, I have no energy, and my sleep schedule is awful. My therapist is suggesting I take antidepressants; besides caffeine, I have never taken any mind altering drugs, so the idea of being on them terrifies me.

I keep hearing that regular exercise helps with mental health, and I have already been wanting to be more fit, so I went.

I already quit caffeine months ago and started eating somewhat healthy, but after going to the gym, my sleep schedule has immensely improved, I have enough energy to stay awake all day, and I haven't had any days that are so bad I hide under my bed drowning in anxiety.

I still don't feel happy, all my days are very neutral, and it's a little annoying getting tired at 8pm on my days off, but I am much better off right now, though I might still needed antidepressants.
