Had a very, very vivid dream the night after my mother died, where she came over and told me to run the vacuum, clean house, and get ready to have a lot of company after her funeral. She kind of cleaned some stuff up around my house, laughed that I had bought a white sofa, and told me she was going to be very busy, and had to go. And right before she left, she pointed to a clock in my living room (She gave it to me for Christmas, and I kept meaning to get a battery for it, and then I would forget) and said, "For God's sake, if you're going to put up that clock, will you at least get at battery for it?" I told her I would, and that was pretty much the end of the dream.

I woke up the next day, really disturbed by how REAL that dream seemed. I walked into my living room, and glanced up at that clock - and the clock was RUNNING! The second hand was ticking away! I could literally feel the hair on the back of my neck standing straight up. I crept over to the clock and looked to see that the battery was still missing - and what I found was strange. It was a rechargeable battery. One like I have never seen before.

I never bought a rechargeable battery in my life. But my mother and I had many conversations throughout the years where she told me she kind of believed that life was like a rechargeable battery, that maybe your spirit recharges and you come back with a whole new energy.

So, did my mother really come back in ghostly form and tell me to clean my house? Did she put a reincarnated battery in the clock? Did I sleepwalk or sleep-drive somewhere and buy one of those batteries? I'll never know.
