When I was about 5, my teenage neighbor molested me. I honestly was so young I didn’t know what was happening. He kept telling me to be quiet and I remember he would laugh to get me to laugh. My other neighbor, closer to my age, found us and he ran and told someone. It turns out he had done it to every kid in the immediate area (about 5 kids) and I remember we had a “neighborhood meeting” where all us kids told his parents what he had done, one by one. I will never forget the cold look on their faces and how they completely denied it happened. As a kid it didn’t really bother me because I was too young to grasp what had happened. Now I’m disgusted by how the parents reacted and even more so how my parents reacted. Both currently (20 years later) act like it never happened and say that I’m lying.
