When I was in my late teens, I went to Mexico for a vacation. Ensenada to be exact. I went to one of the open street side seafood stands and bought a shrimp cocktail. I was minding my own business when a little girl about 10 years old, she was carrying a bag, clearly homeless but was selling stuff. She asked if she could have a bite of my cocktail. I didn't hesitate man, when a kid asks for a bite I can't say no, but what I wish I realized was that she wanted the whole thing, but for some reason didn't ask and it didn't dawn on me to give her the rest until I realized I'd never see her again. Now every time someone asks for food, I make sure I give them enough food to fill their bellies and If I don't have food, I give them money for food because to this day I wish I would've instinctually given that girl my food and some!
