What is the stupidest reason you've ever gotten in trouble at school/work?

I worked at my university's bookstore when I was a second year. It was a mindless job--just folding sweatshirts and joking around with my coworkers.

I always worked with these two guys, both of whom were very good looking and funny. To pass the time, we'd quote most of Fellowship of the Ring or Talladega Nights or whatever. It wasn't super insightful banter, but it passed the shifts quickly.

Our mutual boss was a short, stumpy redhead who was only kind to the cute guys. She blatantly displayed her preference and sort of had an "I dare you to challenge me" attitude about it.

One day, I wore a sweater thing that had a wide scoop neck. The collar hit at the ends of my visible collarbone (half inch from the slopes of my shoulders). My pants were high-waisted and tight, because my hips are wide and I'd rather not wear mom-jeans. This manager summoned me into her office to discuss my "in-store" behavior. She scolded me for 45 minutes for dressing "provocatively" and for distracting my male coworkers. She gave me an ultimatum: if I came to work looking like that again, I was immediately fired. Now, mind you, I wore these pants nearly everyday without complaint, so I figured that I had shown too much clavicle... Or whatever.

The next day, I wore a black turtleneck and the same pants. I never wore dresses to this job, because I was constantly picking up boxes and bending over (harr harr).

Again, I'm summoned.

She tells me that this job is a "bad fit" and that I have an attitude problem. I was confused---my chest is pretty flat, so I figured that dressing that modestly would salvage my job. Additionally, I got along with everyone and did my best to keep everyone happy.

NOPE. She literally said "I can either let you go or you can voluntarily leave, your choice. One day you'll learn that you can't saunter into a job this provocatively."

I was stunned. In my interview, she had been so excited to have another red head in the store (because we are so "rare") and that I was tall enough reach things. My entire job consisted of me folding things and reaching high-up boxes.

So, I got fired because I'm long and orange and fond of conversation over silence.
