I'm an American who somehow picked up casually using the word cunt (probably talking to foreign strangers on the internet). I live in a pretty redneck, white trash area so I don't get a lot of flack. However, if you go around two hours north, where my mom's family lives; it's nothing but small town, Jesus loving, uptight hicks. It's very easy to rub people the wrong way if you don't stick to scripted, SFW conversations and language.
