What sucked about living in the U.S. in the 60s, 70s or 80s (or even 90s)?

Same sort of things that suck about today except to a greater extent in most cases or at least a slightly different slant.

60s & 70s we were involved in a war with no end in sight that resulted in tens of thousands of American deaths.

We've got shitty politicians now but in the 70s we had a sitting president taking actions of questionable legality in order to undermine the opposition.

Maybe medical costs weren't as relatively high as they are today(maybe they were, I don't know) but medical science wasn't nearly as advanced. That sucks if you ask me.

Not to take anything away from the problems black americans face today, but lynchings persisted into at least the 60s.

I believe all stats point to violent crime being much higher in recent decades than it is today.

There was an energy shortage in the 70s. People had trouble getting gasoline.

In the 80s and 90s the ozone layer was going away. We seem to have been able to fix(or at least delay) that.

I believe literacy rates are still going up.

Just a few items off the top of my head.
