What suddenly becomes 'uncool' when you reach a certain age?

I like your insight, thanks for the reply. But yeah, I used to live in a rural part of PA for awhile. And tbh, in terms of interacting with people down south, it's not that different except for the slang & accents...

I'm originally from down south. Mississippi, to be exact. There's no animosity towards northerners in terms of civil war stuff. Sure you'll see guys riding around with rebel flags and junk on their trucks.. But, they don't mean it in a way as to offend northerners.

The only thing you might get called is a "snowbird". Even then, no one would mean it in an insulting way. If anything, people would like you because they like having outsiders stop by. Matter of fact, the town I'm from you don't even have to prepay for gas, lol.. You can just drive up to the pump, pump your gas, and the go inside and pay. You can even get items from our local stores on credit if you need to just by talking to the cashier or a manager. People see you so often, they'll trust you to pay them back.

That's how small it is, lol...

And tbh, I have noticed that northerners tend to be a little more passive aggressive. But NOWHERE as near as gossipy as southerners! Southerners gossip about anything and everything!

For instance, when I went back to my hometown in a newer luxury car instead of my old truck, people were saying I was selling drugs and all this other crazy stuff, lol!! All because I have a newer car. I just preferred a smaller luxury car over a big truck because of gas prices. Plus, ease of parking.

To be honest, as long as you're laid back, polite, and don't have an attitude, you'll fit in. If people come in our town acting like tough guys and stuff, they'll be Outcast quick. Word of mouth will get around, and people just won't interact with you the same way they would the locals.
