What suddenly becomes 'uncool' when you reach a certain age?

I hear you and I certainly can relate.

I've been into electronic music for 30 some years, and been fortunate enough to DJ EDM for at least 15 of those years, playing at clubs and festivals in 25+ countries around the globe. I have had so many amazing, crazy, intense and downright insane experiences over the years. Getting flown in to Colombia by private jet to play at the club of a local drug lord and then stay at his compound, guarded by men with automatic rifles and Dobermans is certainly one of the more memorable ones...

I have met so many incredible people who has shared their time, stories, and adventures with me.

I still LOVE the music. Not a single day pass by without me going thru tons of new tunes, deciding which ones to keep. In fact I have some fresh tunes running right now as I'm typing this comment.

My entire circle of friends and social life is in the scene. Fellow DJ's, producers, organizers, promoters, visual/deco artists, performers of all kinds etc.

So yeah, my entire life is pretty much centered around EDM, yet I would never dream about going to a party unless I'm playing there for the simple reason of "been there, done that", you know? I've played at festivals in front of 10.000+ people only to play at an afterparty in a kitchen for 20 people. I have slept in 5 star hotels and on the floors of train stations. I've taken a 52 hours buss ride to get to a gig and I have been chased down the streets of Caracas, Venezuela by guys with guns. I've tried just about all drugs known to man and have yet to have s ingle bad experience of that although I have seen way too many people that have.

It would be presumptuous and arrogant to claim that I've done it all, but I have done enough, and for a long enough time that it doesn't really interest me all that much anymore. Call me jaded if you will.

Life is ever evolving and nothing stays the same forever. Don't feel regrets that you're moving on but instead feel excitement and joy for all the new, different adventures you have ahead of you.
