What surprisingly IS scientifically proven?

.30-caliber clip 30 bullets in half a second

Neither of those are true or make sense.

Caliber refers to the diameter of the bullet, which for an AR-15 is 5.56mm or .223". An AR-15 also takes a magazines of a wide range of sizes, some of which are banned in some states. That entire statement is wrong and shows that you know nothing about guns.

As to the second point, an AR-15 is semi-automatic. That means it shoots once, cycles a new round into the chamber, and you have to pull the trigger again. You can't just hold the trigger to an AR and expect it to continue firing - that just won't happen. The version of this rifle the military has used since 1994 is the M4A1, which is identical except for its fully automatic capability.

The M4A1, according to Wikipedia, has a fire rate of 700 to 950 RPM. The gas system can be adjusted, changing the tolerance to load a new round, or increase rate of fire. At the maximum 950 RPM, the rifle would clear a 30 round magazine in 1.895 seconds, because each round takes roughly .06s at that rate. Note that this gun is not readily available to civilians, and would be difficult to aim even though .556mm is very low recoil.
