What Is A Thing That People Say In Your Profession That's Always A Lie?

Not my profession but I've been sick enough to experience this enough.

Doc: "This won't hurt."

50/50 between it actually not hurting and hurting a little.

Doc: "This will hurt/sting a little."

AKA it's going to hurt like an effing beyotch. I've had docs bold face lie to my face and tell me this when I was getting a thyroid biopsy done, a spinal angiogram, and probably the most egregious of all - a needle EMG (type of nerve test).

"This will hurt a little but it will be over fast." said the doctor as he rammed a huge, hollow needle into my throat over and over.

"This will hurt a little but we've given you light sedation because we need you awake to follow directions." says the doctor as every nerve in my spine burns from the contrast dye.

"This won't hurt." says the doctor as he jams an electrified needle into my calf.

The lies, the LIES!!!
