What trait do you most resent your parents for passing onto you?

Mediocrity?

My parents (specifically my mother) always wanted me to be well rounded. I participated in everything you could imagine - sports, theatre, music...you name it. She wanted me to be exposed to a variety of different experiences. But the moment I expressed interest in pursuing something exclusively, she wouldn't let me; never wanted me to take anything too seriously. She wouldn't let my brother try out for a travel soccer team, even though he would have made it. Threw a fit when I made the varsity hockey team and decided to quit the theatre.

"Why would you want to specialize in something, when you could be doing other stuff too?"

Don't get me wrong, I had a great childhood, and I'm thankful for being exposed to a number of different hobbies and experiences. But this mentality affected me through school, university and now in work. I'm always unsure of making a commitment, because I'm unsure if I'm choosing the right path. It's resulted in me being ok at a lot of different things, but I've never excelled at anything in particular.
