What turned you into a libertarian?

The local city government's eminent domain of a portion of the land my grandfather worked for and bought. They decided it was acceptable to force the sale of our property, a beautiful naturally kept creek valley, in order to put a new sewer line through for the apartment complex and subdivision that had over taxed the system. Our property served as a way to make a gravity fed system and save the city money cutting out a pumping station.

The kicker is we arent connected to the sewer system that now runs through the property, and dont even live within the city limits. Yet, somehow, they had the "right" to have dominion over our land for their perceived betterment of society.
