What Have You Watched This Past Week That is NOT a Currently Airing Show? [July 15th, 2018]

Hi mates!

Finishing series and quite some OVA/ONA/Movies to pad my list.

My post last week, and everything is in order of enjoyment.

Death Parade (2nd rewatch, Episodes 1-/12) + Death Billiards (2nd Rewatch, Movie)

Watching it again, still as fantastic, those freaking episodic characters keep making me tear up after watching them three times, the setting is so original as well and I love the execution of it with the games.

Death Billiards keeps being as impressive as the first time, all the details and great shots put into it plus showing how interesting the premise is makes it always such a fun watch, I'm really glad that people felt the same way and ended up leading to the creation of the series.

"Provisional" Score: 10/10

Movie Score: 8.5/10

Heartcatch Precure! (Episodes 36-42/49) + Movie: Hana no Miyako de Fashion Show... Desu ka!?

I was planning to finish it this week but I didn't feel fully focused, so leaving it for the next one.

Fantastic set of episodes, there was a comedy one between the story advancement that made me laugh so hard, I love when the show laughs at its own catchphrases and things they do.

Heartcatch, can't wait to see the conclusion of the story!

I also watched the movie and I loved it so much! It did a very nice job at giving the spotlight to each of the Precures and show more of their personal development, and the two protagonists of this movie were nice and the story around them was touching, I had a very nice time and it made me feel even more attached to the cast of the series.

Provisional Score: 8.5/10

Movie Score: 9/10

Aikatsu Stars! (Episodes 17-18/100)

Our girls participated in a TV program with the guys from M4, the focus was set on Ako and her pure fangirl attitude towards one of the members, which lead to her not doing her job properly, but the warning from one of them made her realize what she was doing.

The other episode was focused on Yume, who saw how hard the administrator student of each class works for the events, nice performance from Yume as well to get a spot for the event that will happen in the movie which comes after that episode and I had no idea about, I thought the movie would happen in the second half of the series as in the original, I will probably watch it tomorrow.

Provisional Score: 8.5/10

Magical Doremi (Episodes 43-51/Completed)

And this marks the end of the first season! It actually had one a conclusive finale for a series that would get a sequel the week after, wtf.

Very nice anime, the characters are likeable and it's full of really emotional moments, if I had a "complaint" is that it's just consistently very good, I don't feel that any of the episodes later were any better than the first ones, does that make any sense? ayy.

Still like 160 episodes to go, looking forward to seeing more Doremi! I'm giving it an 8 but I will probably increase to 8.5 if I see the series going up as time passes.

Final Score: 8/10

Gochuumon wa Usagi Desu ka? (2nd Rewatch, Episode 5/12)

The girls played badminton and volleyball for school tournaments, Chiya being able to avoid any projectile is so funny and hella OP.

The second half of the episode had Rize going to the other workplaces to give a gift for father's day, very entertaining and so adorable seeing her and Cocoa/Chino putting love in the presents.

Provisional Score: 8/10

Bang Dream! (Episodes 9-13/Completed) + Special

And I'm caught up for the sequels! Good characters and solid drama, this anime is quite underwatched IMO.

The special was the classic beach episode while also giving spotlight to the Roselia band, I enjoyed it.

Final Score: 7.5/10

Special Score: 7/10

K-On! (3rd Rewatch, Episodes 1-5/13)

Well, the yearly rewatch of K-On S1 is here, /r/anime just keeps organizing it and I always end up feeling like "why not again?"... even if I know that I don't enjoy it that much to do that lmao.

The first three episodes were nice, I actually didn't remember liking them that much, when the comedy focuses on Yui it's just really funny since I like her type of character a lot, the other 2 episodes were focused on Mio and Sawako and I can't say I liked them too much in comparison, one or two laughs per episode. Let's see how the second half of S1 goes.

Provisional Score: 7/10

Kamisama Hajimemashita Season 2 (Episodes 7-12/Completed) + Kako-hen (OVA, Episodes 1-4/Completed) + Final OVA

Pretty solid second half to end the second season, not much to add in comparison to the first other than Tomoe opening up more to his feelings.

Kako-hen and the final OVA gave a solid conclusion to the series when it comes to the romance between Tomoe and Nanami, quite satisfied with the conclusion.

This was a good series although it just lacked "something" (sorry for the lack of critical viewing) to really hook me in, still enjoyable until the end nonetheless, I would recommend.

Final Score: 6.5/10

Kako-hen Score: 6.5/10

OVA Score: 6.5/10

Index II (Episodes 11-24/Completed) + Endymion no Kiseki (Movie)

Step down in comparison to the first season, most arcs were alright and the amount of fanservice whenever they aren't fighting (or even then with some female designs) became ridiculous, this is supposedly not an ecchi lmao.

And with the movie completed I'm fully caught up, it was more of the same honestly, the villain lacked development hard, the main girl of the movie was decent, although she fell victim of the fanservice attack from the series, fukou da.

Final Score: 5/10

Movie Score: 4.5/10

Masamune-kun no Revenge OVA

It got subbed in Spanish (not sure if already out in English) so I went for it, and... it was something I guess, nothing particularly memorable happened, some Koiwai was welcome if something.

Final Score: 4.5/10

Yakusoku no Nanaya Matsuri (ONA)

Pretty bad ONA, the Sci-fi, while original, felt weird in a story where supernatural would have been more fitting, all the characters were pretty boring, the drama was pretty meh but could have been worse.

Final Score: 4/10

Nekopara: Koneko no Hi no Yakusoku (OVA)

Meh, I already watched the longer one when it came out (that was my 800 completed milestone, 8 months passed and I'm at 978, christ) so I went for this one as well, first part was a bit uncomfortable to watch, the other was cute so that's something.

Final Score: 3/10

Excluding One Piece (nevergonnaendTM), the only top 100 entry I have left to complete my objective is Cross Game, and that's exactly what I'm going to watch next!

Other than that, I will keep watching the same series and I will start Go! Princess Precure if I finish Heartcatch before the next thread, really excited for that one.

I'm also thinking about finally watching Sword Art Online now that I finished Index, honestly I will say that I really doubt I will like it, but it's a mix of my need to catch up to sequels and also wanting to finally watch a very popular series for the sake of an opinion, if I will start it next week or later on is something I'm not sure yet.

Thanks for reading and...

See you next week!
