What Have You Watched This Past Week That is NOT a Currently Airing Show? [September 18th, 2016]

Well, I might not have got around to watching any anime the last 2 week. But, I made it up by watching all of Symphogear G . Which turned out to be a "worse show but a better Symphogear" if that makes any sense. This time around, the show realizes drama and storytelling don't matter, and have very little reason to be good. The emotional conflicts got bump down on the priority list, so Symphogear could focus on it's real goal having awesome fight scenes and being fun. Which also got a lot better. The direction of the battles is far more dynamic this season, and the animation has seen a ridiculous upgrade. Symphogear is still one of the funnest anime experiences out there.

On a more important note, Dr. Ver was easily the mvp. Seeing his sheer love and dedication towards being a saturday morning cartoon villain is still bringing a smile to my face.

Cackling Ver face/10

I also burned through the first 4 episodes of Symphogear GX, which looks like it might be even more Symphogear then last season. I've already seen the girls riding missles to save a crashing space shuttle, the most over top idol performance imaginable, a song about beef stroganoff, and the cast spent an entire scene just bragging about their girlfriends. Things are actually looking so far. And, while I loved Ver, we seem to be getting actual villians this season. The autoscorers are actually really visually interesting and seem to be an actual threat. Also Garie is best girl.

Plus I watched the first 3 episodes of Ef: a Tale of Memories . And it took me awhile to warm up to the dream like presentation of the show, but I think I'm hooked now. I'm also pretty intrigued how the show is balancing the multiple storylines and the different styles used for them.
