In what ways are the UK more like a 3rd world country than it wants to admit?

so generously provided by the state

Ah yes, a roof over someones head shouldn't be a right. Because of course, no social housing tenants pay rent, they're just given their gaff as a handout, obvs.....

Nice to see your true colours there.

You know, as well as I do that a significant proportion, if not all in some cases, of the rent is paid for by the state. Yes, shelter is a right. Looking after that shelter and keeping it clean, and in a good state of repair is a responsibility. Too many people seem to have a complete disregard for the latter and are only bothered about their rights, an automatic belief that of they shout loudly enough everything will be handed to them. You just can't bring yourself to admit it.

I pay a lot of money into the system, that is my responsibility as a taxpayer. I have a right to question where that money goes and how it is spent. If the money is spent on people who waste it/piss it up the wall then I have a right to be annoyed about it. You can call me a classist prick all you like, that's what social justice warriors do. Instead of getting worked up about me pointing out a truthful observation you should be getting worked up about the money being wasted on people who can't even drag themselves into the kitchen to wash the pots or who think smashing holes in a wall is an acceptable way to treat council property.
