What to do when you like him but don’t love him?

My ex and I had a similar relationship, it started to get bad a couple of months in, 9 months later and it was over and it didn’t end well. I was her caretaker through the whole thing and built up a lot of resentment at how she treated me. Even after explaining in the nicest way possible she still managed to take offence at it. 6 or 7 break ups happened and it was worse every time I went back but I couldn’t stop because I felt like I could still help someone who didn’t want to be helped, she said she’d never change and didn’t have the time for therapy. I’m not saying that’s how your relationship will go and I don’t know the full story of how you are as a couple but see the same patterns of behaviour by you both. Don’t stay with someone out of pity, there’s a difference staying because you love someone or because you’re scared they’ll fall apart without you. You need to be more considerate to yourself and decide what it is want from your life, not what someone else wants.
