I work for my university's library as a student and every library employee is on a big email chain. Now, this is not only includes the multiple libraries on the main campus but every goddamn library of every goddamn branch campus. Now, as an undergraduate employee, you aren't allowed to leave the email list, which wouldn't be an issue if people used it appropriately. I get between 30 and 60 emails a day about people selling furniture across the state, asking for help fundraising for their kids, asking questions that are irrelevant to 98% of the people on the list, etc. So in order to work at my job to pay rent, I'm basically subscribed to a worse version of Craigslist and I can't leave unless I quit.
