What will the world look like in 2065?

The US is over 25% hispanic, Spanish is a widely used second language. Gay marriage and abortion are non issues - both are legal in all states, but it's still something the older generations grumble about. Religious and racial tensions will have mellowed a lot. Self driving cars are the norm, but human operated vehicles are still around. Your insurance premium is higher if you insist on driving your own car. America has had both a woman and hispanic president by this point. Climate change is a fact of life in many places. FEMA has to deal with at least two major catastrophes every year - either megatornados, wildfires, or hurricanes. Still, the US is far better off than some other parts of the world; there are ongoing humanitarian crises in Bangladesh and West Africa due to environmental disasters.

In terms of foreign relations, the EU and Canada remain the US's predominant allies. 10% of American freshwater is imported from Canada. In the wake of the 10's Ukrainian crisis, the EU has expanded to include Ukraine, Turkey, and the Balkan states. A major new US ally is India - they are the US's number two trade partner after China. They were also a major contributor to the second international space station, which was developed to replace the first which was retired in the 30s. Venezuela experienced a civil uprising in the 20s, and after a short period of violence a somewhat stable new government emerged with US support. China is a major world player, and has overtaken the US in terms of absolute GDP, but as their citizens get wealthier, they start caring more about things like free speech and democracy...

Energy production is very different, with the creation of viable fusion power in the 40s. About 50% of the world's energy is produced through traditional fission and fusion, another ~15% comes from solar + wind, and fossil fuels continue to supply the rest. Cheap energy has caused a rise in living standards globally. Medicine has also advanced to the point of creating artificial lab grown organs. Anti-biotic resistant bacteria are the new bogeyman, and there have been a few scares. Some types of cancer can now be cured completely, other kinds persist. Tuberculosis has been exterminated, AIDS is still around.
