What is with this town and stunt driving this year?

This is a re-post of this comment. This comment was removed by the moderators of this sub reddit and I was not given a reason for the removal. The reason I have adopted is they are not supportive of my opinion, and they've tried to censor it. I've made a report to the Reddit Admins about it as well. If there is something wrong with it, you may message me via private message and let me know what is wrong with it, and then we can work together to fix it, if it needs any fixing at all.

The Red Hill is all kinds of messed up. We were forced to build it on 70 year old specifications, and 70 year old speed limits. Nowadays the majority of vehicles on the road can do 180 easily.

In a lot of these cases people did not even realize they were driving that fast, and that says a lot about the road itself. If people are able to control their vehicles at these speeds, then they should be able to drive at these speeds.

The Red Hill must be 4 or 5 lanes wide, the amount of traffic that is set to flow through in the near future because of people in GTA moving here for affordable housing demands this.

Hamilton needs to step up and get it's act together and perhaps build a road that people can be proud of. The way it's done now is very piss poor, the turns are all wrong, you have to brake hard in some corners, especially after the Dartnall exit going Eastbound and then you have to speed up very quickly, and then another steep downhill curve before the Greenhill exit in which cars can reach 120 or 130 on their own because of the momentum.

TL:DR: If a driver can control his or her vehicle at whatever speed, then, that is the speed limit that should be in place. For example, if you can drive 180 km/h on the Red Hill, then the speed limit should be 85% of that, which is 153 km/h. There was a study done on this here. I'm not saying that the majority of drivers can drive at 180 km/h, but I'm saying if that was the reference point for this road and the majority of drivers were driving at 180 km/h, then the speed limit should be 85% of that.

Ask yourselves, if our vehicles can cruise at these speeds, why are we not allowing society to do it? Studies have shown that every driver driving at the same speed is the safest, but we only have 2 lanes, and people in the right lane are always either at 90 km/h or less because of merging lanes and exit lanes, and it doesn't make it safe for people on the left to drive at higher speeds because of the lack of space. If the highway was widened like it should have been when built, there would not be a problem here because of this. On the major 400 highways people routinely drive 130 - 150 km/h in the left lanes, even in the HOV lanes.

There is more than enough space beside the Red Hill to make this happen, so why are we not doing it? We are effectively stopping progress here, and all studies point to widening the highway and increasing the speed limit.
