What is a Woman?

I know this narrative well, and the transsexuals believed it ever since. I hold against that interpretation. As so often, people are not liked because they are not likeable. It is usually not the trans-thing which puts people off. Excusing people leads to them not being able to work on themselves, and that is bad. People need to realize that it is usually their fault if they are not liked. The "discrimination ideology" is a simple solution for not needing to work on oneself.

Legal protection is there since long. Societal acceptance did not meet resistance. The fact that some people will always say they don't accept such things is unavoidable. Forcing people to praise something is totalitarian.

Conservative politicians want to remove more or less of the issue. First of all, I agree with them that the authoritarian aspects such as compelled speech (pronouns) and other enforcements are removed.

If I want to be accepted by people, I must be a kind person. I would never infringe on others, and I will take the blame, if necessary. I will defend myself when endangered. But I will not shout at others for using the wrong pronoun, or demand special treatment. If one is deviant from mainstream, that comes with certain restrictions (usually, not much nowadays). This must be accepted.

We are touching the idea of social norms; these are rules which are implicit, not laws. People expect others to behave in certain ways. Deviance leads to some amount of disturbance of the smoothness of the social interactions. However, a transgender person which behaves politely and normally, as I know very well from first hand, is accepted by almost everybody, at least where it matters. I lived a kind of non-binary existence for years, and went to countries which are considered "conservative", and people were friendly. Maybe the French were most disturbed :-) But the balkans were fine.

With that in my mind, I really don't understand these hysterical young people with pink hair and black lips and tattoos in the face and piercings everywhere, visibly borderline or similar, and shout at everybody who does not call them "ze" or whatever else they are coming up with. This is a distortion of "freedom", it has become bullying of "normal" people, forcing them to submit. That will surely backfire sooner or later.

Social norms need to exist, if one wants to break them. If social norms are replaced (they are always there in some way!), then one needs to find something else to break them again. That's how first a revolution kills the establishment, and then immediately turns against "counter-revolutionaries" in their own rows, then comes the cleansing. This mindset wants to take things farther and farther, and won't ever stop. That's why there are norms and conservatives trying to keep them.

I am personally a progressive by nature, but I do not want society to break down, which makes me a conservative in practice. I know that we need a solid basis to base all progressive experiments on. Don't destroy the basis, that destabilizes the entire system. = A transsexual woman wants femininity to exist. This is very different from this pretense craziness of woke people hijacking the topic.
