What workplace-related things are there that seem OK in one state's workplace culture, but in another, just wouldn't fly?

When I lived and worked in Louisiana, every aircraft company in the area, from helicopter offshore charters to turbine engine maintenance facilities to aircraft instrument companies, would meet for one big soirée. Anyone who’s anyone in the oil industry would be there. The oil company sponsors would by thousands of pounds of crawfish and other foods. They’d have people from the best meat shops in the area making gratons on site. They had enough beer to get the entire city drunk in one night. It was just too much. Of course, working for these companies, you were expected to be there as well drinking beer with your coworkers but especially your boss.
