What in the world is happening with Florida Gator recruiting?

Florida is neck in neck with UM academically speaking. We both hover around the same 40-50 ranking each year and flip back and forth. FSU traditionally has been around 80-100. Obviously those are just random USNews rankings which don't mean much. But I was offered $20,000 and the honors college to FSU but UF didn't offer me anything because I wasn't in their top tier. My high school class, top 5% commonly went out of state or to UF. Top 5-20% went to FSU,UCF, USF. UM is private and expensive, not as big outside of south Florida. Solid 5 hrs away from Gainesville.

Sports wise FSU has had football for a while and baseball as well. UF cleans up across the board and does well in everything though. Capital One Cup or whatever that aggregate thing was had UF winning the overall for two years in a row a few years back. So with that being said, UF has the bigger following. It's dead center of the state, lots of success in things outside of just football. FSU is way out west and typically the fans have some tie to the school, not just random fandom.

N=1 for my experience
