What worries you about life in the UK in the near term and long term?

Politically speaking, I'm quite concerned that we're sleep walking into a very untenable position in regards to democratic governance. As we're slowly witnessing the collapse of effective opposition combined with a privately led consolidation of media space.

My fear is that if the political left of this country continues to fracture, we may very well find ourselves held hostage under First Past the Post with a Conservative hegemony extending into the next two decades. Which may not sound bad to some, but once a party believes they win elections by comfortable margins is when they stop making compromises to the public and passing laws of self interest with little oversight. Which is bad for everyone.

This can be prevented, but right now there is no will to see it through, and our levers to influence change are being taken away as our government continues to stoke the phantom of culture war.

Tl;dr I'm worried that we'll soon be faced with a reality of uncompetitive elections where weak, fractured, ineffectual parties vie to be the leader of the opposition against thumping Conservative majorities.
