What worrying trend are you beginning to notice?

I think the trend has been propelled by the rise of online dating. I'm finding it nearly impossible to find someone who wants to take the time for us to get to know each other. I'm a slow mover, not sex motivated, and I really want that deep friendship with someone. I've found online interactions to be SO shallow, and even when someone agrees to meet in person, it seems like if it's not "love at first sight" then the person will ghost and move on.

Online dating gives us the sense that there are hundreds of available, willing people out there. Disagree with someone on something? Move on to the next potential match. Dislike someone's photo? Move on. Spelling error in a message? Move on. Someone seems fine on the surface? Let's bang it out! No need to get to know each other first! Why invest time in someone if you can just swipe and move on to the next one?

The worst part is that people have become so reliant on the online dating apps and platforms that meeting a potential partner organically seems to have gone by the wayside. :(
